Mr. Swenson, who has specialized in mergers and acquisitions
since 1980, joined Stephens Inc. in 1999. Prior to joining Stephens
Inc., he was employed from September 1992 until August 1999 at
EVEREN Securities, Inc. and its acquired subsidiary Principal
Financial Securities, Inc. At EVEREN, Mr. Swenson was in charge of
the firm’s energy practice, which was primarily M&A related,
and at Principal, he was head of Investment Banking. From 1991
through 1992, he was employed as a Senior Vice President of
Corporate Finance with Southwest Securities, Inc., focusing
primarily on mergers and acquisitions transactions. From 1980
through 1990, he was employed by Rotan Mosle, a wholly owned
subsidiary of Paine Webber, Inc. and one of the premier regional
energy firms in the 1980s, and was the head of Rotan’s Dallas
Corporate Finance Department. From 1976 through 1980, he was
employed as a Certified Public Accountant in the Private Business
advisory division of KPMG Peat Marwick.
Mr. Swenson received an MBA from Southern Methodist University
and a BA in economics from the University of North Carolina. He has
served on the Board of Directors of Bright Banc S.A., Principal
Financial Securities, Rotan Mosle, Inc. and the Board of Visitors
of the University of North Carolina. He currently serves on the
Board of Directors of Children’s Medical Center.
